Professional info
I began working as a freelance translator in March 2008 while studying the French major in Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica. In 2013, I moved out to Mexico where I continue to work as a professional translator and study the Language Sciences with Emphasis in Translation and Interpretation major.
I always strive to be loyal to the following philosophy while working for my clients: If I keep a satisfactory level of quality, timely deliveries, and good communication; my client will be happy.
The quality of my work has allowed me to work important language related projects for worldwide known companies and corporations like Panasonic, Samsung, Nike, SmartBomb, Starbucks, Polaris, The Economist, Microsoft, The Goverment of the United States, Abbott Vascular, among others.

Co-founder, CEO, and Project Coordinator at Traduality Language Solutions
2011 - present
I started project managing the same day I started my own company. Some of my responsibilities as Project Coordinator include giving support to translators with inquiries and issues regarding projects, preparation of language related projects using CAT Tools, creation of glossaries, TM maintenance, managing of Quality Assurance, negotiation with clients, research, etc.
Professional Translator & Interpreter
2008 - present
I really started translating by accident. I already had full knowledge of English when I was introduced into the world of translation, but I had no idea people get paid for doing it back then. My first time working with translations happened while I was helping out in a Karate seminar –I was just helping them move boxes here and there–, the interpreter hired by Master Shihan Teruyuki Okazaki, President of the International Shotokan Karate Federation (ISKF) could not make it. Someone commented about my English skills and after a short interpretation test by Master Okazaki, I was immediatly hired.
I got in touch with ProZ.com tutoring program after I discovered their website and shortly after I was getting quite a lot of translation requests from clients who heard about the quality of my services by mouth to mouth recommendations.
I now specialize in Business, Financial, Medical (general), Electronics, Video Games, Legal (general) and Engineering (mostly vehicles and industrial machinery).

Since there is no translation major in my native country, it was not until 2013 that I was able to start a formal education in translation. This is the reason why I ask my prospect clients to not judge my skills by my college education. Even though I began the major recently, I already have over nine years of experience in the business and I have won projects from some of the most popular companies of the world as a freelancer.

I was able to complete my College education in French language and got a diploma before moving out to Mexico.

While I was studying French, I was preparing myself to open my own localization company. I took several optional courses completely independent to the French major. Each course lasted six months. Allow me to list these courses: Analysis of texts, Entrepreneurship, Speech Analysis and Environmental Ethics (this last one is personal interest).
